What is an Ozone Faucet Aerator?

A faucet aerator is a small device that you can install to the end of any sink. It has a small piece of mesh to allow air to flow through the water stream. We will add ozone to the stream and it will make an ozonated water source.

2. A2Z Ozone’s Ozone Faucet Aerator
3. Polyeurethane Flexible Tubing from A2Z Ozone
4. Check Valve (Optional)

How do You Install an Ozone Faucet Aerator?

Join the Ozone Faucet Aerator with water ozone generators and most kitchen or bathroom sinks. Use the tubing provided with your ozone generator to connect the ozonator to the Ozone Faucet Aerator.

Do You Need an Adapter?

The Ozone Faucet Aerator comes equipped with an adapter for the male or female fitting faucet. See detailed instructions below, or watch our video. Get ozonated water on demand. Make sure to test the setup.

Getting the Ozone into the Water from the Ozone Generator

After installing the Ozone Faucet Aerator, place one end of the tubing into your ozone generator’s Ozone Out port. Place the other end of the tubing into A2Z Ozone’s Ozone Faucet Aerator.

Do I Need a Check Valve?

Ensure no water is flowing back into the tube. Install the ozone generator (or the tube) in a higher position than your faucet. For added protection consider installing a check valve.

Added Protection: The Check Valve

To install the check valve, cut a piece of the tubing between the ozone generator and the Ozone Faucet Aerator. Then, put the check valve with the arrow facing the water source on both sides of the tubing. 

Installation is quick, just follow these steps:

 Steps to Instant Ozonated Water:

• Decide which adapter your sink needs – male or female.

• Screw into your sink (you can view the video above for help).

• Plug one end of the flexible tubing into the “Ozone Out” port and then connect the other end to the Ozone Faucet Aerator.

• Make sure to test. Ensure no water is flowing back into the tube. We recommend installing the ozone generator (or the tube) in a higher position than your faucet. For added protection consider installing a check valve.

When you’re ready to use your faucet aerator:

• Turn on your ozone generator for roughly 30 seconds before you intend to turn on the faucet water.

• Operate your faucet as you would normally – now your water will be ozonated!

• Don’t forget to turn off your ozone generator after use. You may leave your tubing all plugged in. 

• Enjoy!

Replacing Tubing / Ozone Faucet Aerator

Replace the check valve when you do the tubing–about every six months to a year, depending on wear and tear. You can replace the Ozone Faucet Aerator when the water flows only to one side of the faucet.

Do I have to replace the Ozone Faucet Aerator?

First, you can try cleaning the mesh and sides of the Ozone Faucet Aerator. If this does not work, then you can replace it.

Other Benefits of Using the Ozone Faucet Aerator

Now, there are other benefits to using the Ozone Faucet Aerator. A faucet aerator adds air between the small streams of water that make up the whole water flow from your sink.

What Does HUD Say?

According to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), your new faucet aerator will save energy with hot water usage. It will save on water usage, like a water-efficient showerhead.

A Faucet Aerator will Save on Water and Electricity

Of course, the kitchen or bathroom aerator will not have the same savings of water as a water-efficient showerhead. HUD says that an old showerhead can use an incredible 5 to 10 gallons per minute. The water-efficient showerhead provides 2.5 gpm of water. A straight faucet will send 3 to 5 gpm to your sink. By adding the faucet aerator, you are getting a flow rate of 0.5 to 1.5 gpm in your bathroom and 2.2 gpm in the kitchen.
