Ozone Calculators and General Information to Assist in Your Selection
We are always happy to assist you with your selection of an ozone generator. We are providing this selection table and the ozone calculators as general guidelines. Remember, certain factors, including contaminants, humidity, flow rate, and temperature may affect your selections. Visit the Ozone Generator Manuals page, which includes fuse types and ozone information.

Questions to Consider When Choosing an Industrial/Commercial/Laboratory Ozone Generator

Determine the approximate ozone concentration you need.

  • What is the application?
  • How much water are you treating?
  • What are the contaminants in the water?
  • What are the conditions? Humidity?
  • Will you use an oxygen source?
  • What is the flow rate?

We recommend purchasing an oxygen generator suitable for the amount of ozone.

Flow Rate and Desired PPM Conversion in Water

Use this calculation to determine the necessary ozone production to achieve a specific ozone dosage into a water flow.

GPM PPM g/hr

(3.78 • 60 • GPM • PPM) / 1000 = g/hr

Output of an Ozone Generator using Oxygen Feed Gas

Output of an Ozone Generator using Oxygen Feed Gas

Use this calculation to determine the output of an ozone generator on oxygen feed gas. Enter the Flow rate of the oxygen and the concentration of ozone in the oxygen to easily determine the production of your ozone generator! This calculation only works with oxygen feed gas.

LPM % O3 g/hr
%

LPM • 0.001 • 60 • 14.3 • %O3 = g/hr

Output of an Ozone Generator using Dry Air Feed Gas

Use this calculation to determine the output of an ozone generator on dry air feed gas. Enter the Flow rate of oxygen and the concentration of ozone in this dry air to easily determine the production of your ozone generator! This calculation only works with dry air feed gas.

LPM % O3 g/hr
%

LPM • 0.001 • 60 • 12.8 • %O3 = g/hr

Output of an Ozone Generator from g/m3 of Ozone

Use this calculation to determine the output of an ozone generator when you know the flow rate and ozone concentration in grams of ozone per cubic meter of air/oxygen. This calculation removes the question of what type of feed gas is being used and can be used with either dry air or oxygen.

LPM g/m3 g/hr

LPM • 60 • 0.001 • g/m3 = g/hr

Output of an Ozone Generator from PPM of Ozone & Flow Rate

Use this calculation to determine the output of a commercial ozone generator. If you do not know the flow rate it can be measured with a wind speed meter and calculated. Using the air flow rate in CFM and the ozone level in PPM the output of the ozone generator in milligrams/hour can be determined. This calculation can also be used to determine the amount of ozone necessary to treat a flue gas stream or many other industrial emission control applications.

CFM PPM mg/hr

CFM / 35.33569 • 60 • PPM • 2.14 = mg/hr

Adjusted Flow for Pressurized Flow Meters

Use this calculation to determine the output of a commercial ozone generator. If you do not know the flow rate it can be measured with a wind speed meter and calculated. Using the air flow rate in CFM and the ozone level in PPM the output of the ozone generator in milligrams/hour can be determined. This calculation can also be used to determine the amount of ozone necessary to treat a flue gas stream or many other industrial emission control application
